Jessica Mutsch is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who graduated with her MSW from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has previous experience providing outpatient and in-home psychotherapy services. She offers counseling services to individuals (4 years+), couples and families. Ms. Mutsch believes psychotherapy is a journey of self-discovery and self-acceptance. She also believes it is a collaborative relationship that is built on trust. Her work combines innovative techniques with a broad assortment of traditional approaches. As a therapist certified in trauma, she works with both acute and complex trauma issues, with the understanding that trauma is the underlining mechanism which can manifest in many different symptoms and diagnoses.
Ms. Mutsch has experience working with children, families, couples and individuals with a variety of symptoms and issues, including but not limited to, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, physical and chronic pain, abuse, life transitions and self-esteem.
Her approach to therapy is holistic, direct and interactive. It includes cognitive behavioral (CBT), trauma focused CBT, Brainspotting and interpersonal focused therapy, relying on strong empathetic skills to help clients draw on internal resources to affect purposeful change. It is Ms. Mutsch’s belief that the answers lie within and that her job is to facilitate a safe environment and support the emergence of non-judgmental awareness, which enables change to happen.
