
Sandra Black is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She received her Master of Social Work from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in 1983. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers and the Critical Incident Stress Management Group of Ozaukee County.
During more than 20 years of clinical work, Ms. Black has worked in private practice and hospital-based inpatient and outpatient settings. She treats adults and older adults struggling with issues of depression, anxiety, grief, mid-life issues, chronic illness, and women’s issues at Comprehensive Counseling Services.
Ms. Black views treatment as a process which consists of establishing a therapeutic relationship; aiding the client to identify specific issues; educating the client regarding their symptoms or diagnosis; offering short and long-term coping strategies; and assisting the client to restructure thoughts, actions, and lifestyle using their goals and values.
Sandra’s personal interests include animal welfare issues and enjoying her dogs. Family is a priority; sharing life with her children and their families. Reading and current affairs are also a focus of her personal time.
